At the late stages of your  prenatal care checkups, your doctor will check for a number of things to make sure you are healthy. Some of the things that your health care provider will check for at your third -trimester prenatal checkups include:

  •   Checks your weight and blood pressure
  •  Checks your baby’s heartbeat
  •   Measures your belly to check your baby’s growth
  •   Gives you certain prenatal tests to check you and your baby.  And at 35 to 37 weeks, you get a test to check for strep. This is an infection you can pass to your baby.
  •  Asks you about your baby’s movement in the womb
  • Gives you a Tdap vaccination at 27 to 36 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Does a pelvic exam
